All you need to bring along is: a small overnight bag with a change of clothes, swimming gear, hat, sunscreen, towel, insect repellent, camera and film, food and money for souvenirs. Please wear comfortable walking shoes.

Your 2 day/1 night Go Troppo Itinerary

Port Douglas: Enjoy one of the most scenic coastal drives in Australia along the Captain Cook Highway.

The Wildlife Habitat: See the endangered Cassowary and rare Lumholtzs Tree Kangaroo along with other wildlife, with the opportunity to have your photo taken holding a koala, snake or crocodile, at a discounted price.

Daintree River Cable Ferry: Cross and enter Daintree National Park.

Alexandra Lookout: Stop for magnificent views of the Daintree River and Coral Sea.

Dubuji Boardwalk: Spot more wildlife on this guided rainforest walk, with great photo opportunities (own cost).

Arrive at your Cape Tribulation accommodation to check in at approx 4.30pm

Day 2

Free time to enjoy great optional activities or to just relax and take in the beautiful cape tribulation beach. Depart accommodation for return journey at 4:30pm arriving in Cairns at approx. 7:30pm.

Choose from either of the following (prices based on dorm share only, upgrades apply for double rooms):
  1. Cape Trib Beach House A modern and funky beach front resort with pool, bar, and bistro only metres from the beach. Chill out in resort comfort!
  2. PK's Jungle Village Right in the heart of Cape Tribulation. During the day chill out by the pool then party the night away in the Jungle Bar.

Optional extra activities for day two(at own cost):

Nightwalks with Jungle Adventures - As the sun sets over the trees, animals stir and the forest comes to life. Armed with a flashlight, come into a fascinating nocturnal world, little changed in 120 million years!

Cape Trib Horse Rides - The only horse riding available in the Cape Tribulation and Daintree area, they cater for beginners, intermediate and experienced riders on a group of very friendly and well trained horses. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Cape Tribulation as you trail through the oldest living rainforest in the world. Ride through many crystal clear mountain streams, through cane paddocks and along crocodile inhabited riverbeds until you reach the spectacular Cape Tribulation Beach. Half Day tours are available.

NEW Paddletrek Kayak Adventures - Enjoy an exciting morning or sunset adventure paddle with spectacular views and photo opportunities, gilding over stunning coral reefs, and gazing back at the lush rainforest and white sand beaches. Keep your eyes peeled for turtles, dugongs, sea eagles, dolphins and stingrays, commonly sighted in the area.

Cape Trib Jungle Surfing- Jungle Surfing is a unique rainforest experiecne where your feet don't touch the ground! Fly through the trees on zip lines, giving you an impressive birds eye view into the jungle canopy and out onto the Great Barrier Reef. Resident scientists educate and entertain as they guide you safely from platform to platform. Jungle surfing is the adventure activity for all ages. Choose between slow, fast, or upside down flight choices, depending on what you prefer. All equipment is provided, including a hull body harness and safety helmet. Bring nothing but your camera, and your sense of adventure! Please wear shorts or long pants, no skirts or dresses and comfortable enclosed footwear only.

Other optional activities that can be booked on arrival to Cape Tribulation include sea kayaking, mountain biking, bush walking, hiking and crocodile cruises.

Whitsunday Chinatown development a step closer
THE Whitsunday Regional Council and Whitsunday Chinatown Investment Pty Ltd held an official signing ceremony yesterday to finalise the sale of Council land at Waterson Way, Airlie Beach for the sum of $2.5 million to build a $300 million Chinatown development in Airlie Beach.
