Queensland
is Australia's jewell of the tropics. Boasting 3,000km of warm water coastline,
the Great
Barrier Reef, tropical islands, resorts, rainforest, mountains and
deserts. Queensland is not to be missed during your Australia
vacation adventure.
Queenslanders are friendly, laid-back, possess a dry sense of humour and
are quietly smug at being blessed with one of the world’s best climates.
Warm and welcoming, they are more than happy to share their knowledge
of what to do and where to go.
Some of Queensland's most popular places are Cairns,
Whitsundays
and Cape
York.

Cairns
is the international gateway into Tropical North Queensland, and is also
rated as being the safest tropical city in the world. Cairns also boasts
two of the world’s greatest natural treasures - the Great
Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforests.
Both of these wonderful attractions are World Heritage listed, and there
are very few places on Earth where two such treasures rest side by side.
Cairns International Airport is the nation’s sixth busiest in terms of
international and domestic passenger movements, and the city also is rated
the third most popular tourist destination in the country after Sydney
and Brisbane. More than three million international and domestic passenger
movements were recorded during 2002/03.
The city is a vital, cosmopolitan centre and its residents enjoy an enviable
tropical lifestyle.
